Mary Christian-Reed, MD, FAAD, FACMS

Mary Christian-Reed, MD, FAAD, FACMS is a Board Certified Dermatologist and Fellowship Trained Mohs Micrographic Surgeon.  Following acceptance into an American College of Mohs Surgery approved Fellowship at UCLA Medical Plaza, she received extensive training in skin cancer, reconstruction, laser, and cosmetic dermatology.  Her practice philosophy is to care for patients as if she was the patient, treating them in a caring, respectful, and excellent manner.

She received her Bachelor's Degree with summa cum laude honors from Oral Roberts University in 1989, and her Medical Degree with honors from Dartmouth Medical School in 1994.  In medical school, she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and was also a Rolf C Syversten scholar (for academic excellence and community involvement).

Following completion of her Dermatology Residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston (1995-98), she completed a Mohs Micrographic Surgical Fellowship at UCLA Medical Plaza(1998-1999).  At the annual Mohs Micrographic Surgery Meeting, she was awarded the Theodore Tromovitch Award for her research on skin cancer, which led to a publication in the medical journal, Dermatologic Surgery. Following her fellowship, she joined the Faculty of the University of Texas Medical Center in Dallas as an Assistant Professor where she served as the Director of Laser and Cosmetic Dermatology and a faculty Mohs Micrographic Surgeon.  She is an author of over 20 medical publications and is currently a Contributing Editor to the medical journal, Dermatologic Surgery.

She is Board Certified through the American Board of Dermatology and is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American College of Mohs Surgery, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery.

She considers it a privilege to care for patients and has a special interest in skin cancer, reconstructive, laser, and cosmetic dermatology.  She enjoys the overlap of these fields and is committed to providing excellent care to her patients in a comfortable and caring environment.
